Layers of silicon shaped around a skeleton made of gold with an intricate weaving of rat heart cells that allow the whole thing to actually swim like a ray. Oh yeah, and both direction and speed are controlled by pulses of light.

When I see something like this it just makes it so clear to me that not only are we already living in the future today, but on the not too distant horizon are innovations like this that will make everyday life seem more and more like science fiction than non-fiction.
